We’re Going Places

Mick Jackson and John Broadley’s second collaboration, after “While You’re Sleeping,” explores the journeys we take and observe in our lives.

From birth to old age, we participate in trips to become who we are, and Mick Jackson looks into their variety: street strolls, journeys in a rush, exciting expeditions, and the ones we didn’t want to arrive at. Apart from our trip, the reader learns about journeys made in nature, moving clouds, pouring rain, and moving cycles of creatures.

How do we make the trips? The story shows the different types of transportation involved at present, in the past, and the future. But sometimes, we travel otherwise; expeditions are taken when drawing, in our sleep, or our imagination. Whether real or imaginary, these journeys are beautifully depicted in John Broadley’s unique style, filled with vibrant patterns.

“We’re Going Places” has the power to initiate meaningful conversations about memories, emotions, and the desire to explore for EYFS and KS1 children. It could even motivate them to write a list of their own life journeys, fostering a sense of introspection and self-awareness.

A stunning feast for the eyes during a treasured trip!
